Do you ever wake up one morning with a lyric in your head? Maybe it’s from a song you were listening to right before you went to bed, or maybe it’s from a tune you haven’t heard for years. And if you’re like me, you’ll search the line on Google, find the song, and immediately listen. It’s like being reunited with an old friend, and a flood of memories will come pouring through your mind with just one string of words.
Independent music producer, songwriter, and DJ Roi Zohar a.k.a Brainheart will give you the same vibe with his debut EP entitled, “The Strange Kids,” featuring vocals of 22-year-old singer-songwriter Dorel. “The Strange Kids” is a project that you’ll enjoy more and more after every listen. It’s one of the best and most promising projects we’ve heard in months and really deserves more attention.
The first track starts things off, with a lovely guitar hitting the listener’s ear first. Dorel’s vocal enters soon after to further the smooth and tender nature of the instrumental, and it’s clear that the song is for those who feel different: a reinforcement of their sense of uniqueness. Brainheart has so much talent when it comes to making music and his songwriting experience is unquestionable. Zohar’s production skills are impressive and his musical abilities are unlimited. The vocalist Dorel has one of the richest and most captivating voices we’ve ever heard and his performance is professional and makes us have to rewind the songs over and over every time we listen to them. The lyrics are honest, beautifully written and mesh perfectly with the vocal melodies. The quality of this project is interesting and regardless of what you’re a fan of, Brainheart brings a great variety of styles and tastes to his music that will not only demand your attention but will keep you coming back for more. After listening to these songs for a little less than a week, we already find ourselves humming along to these catchy melodies at random moments throughout the day. Perhaps more importantly, we’ll be reminded of a single lyrical line, which forces me to listen to the EP at the first chance we can get.
We really love what Brainheart what brought to the table today and can’t wait to hear more from him in the coming months, but until then, I suppose we’ll just have to keep this powerful EP “The Strange Kids” on repeat. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think. Don’t forget to follow Brainheart online to stay up to date!
