Q: Hey, can you tell us a bit about where you come from, and what made you want to start a career in music?
A: I was born in Sherbrooke, QC in a middle-class family full of love and humble goodness. My mom introduced me to country music, and my dad had me listen to the blues for the first time. Therefore, I was drawn to listen to the “music of the people’’ from a very young age. ‘’Three chords and the truth’’ is my truth too!
Q: And what other artists have you found yourself listening to lately?
A: I listen to a lot of Christian Nodal from Mexico these days. He’s probably one of the biggest voices of North America now in my opinion. I’ve also been enjoying Paul Cauthen’s stuff. There’s something about him that will remind you of Elvis and Waylon.
Q: Who were your first and strongest musical influences?
A: The crooners and the country crooners! I learned how to sing by listening to Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins and Elvis.
Q: You have just released your new single, ‘Last Country Bar’. Is there a story behind it?
A: The song is a celebration of the days of live music, two-stepping crowds and old fashion Friday nights. Simple goodness.
Q: Can we expect a new EP or even an album from you in the near future?
A: Yes! 2023 is the year I will release an actual record and I can’t wait for it to be done and out there in the world. I’d like to thank the fans for their unconditional support over the years.
Q: What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners, and how would you personally describe your sound?
A: I feel that we are resonating with music because often the music is also the truth. It is a vehicle, and a language deeply rooted in all of us that we intuitively understand. Because of this, I try to make music with the intention of being as true as possible so that it will allow the music to do what it wants to do! My sound is inspired by old country greats and I hope it conveys to the listeners the charm, the gentleness, and the class I enjoy so much in traditional country music.
Q: Do you feel that your music is giving you back just as much fulfillment as the amount of work you are putting into it, or are you expecting something more?
A: It is giving me way more than any work or effort I could ever put in it. Music is all. I think it just depends on how I look at it. Music is always bountiful, healing and uplifting if I allow myself just to be grateful for it.
Q: What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music career so far?
A: Crippling self-doubt that often makes me forget how blessed and privileged I am to be doing this.
Q: On the contrary, what would you consider a successful, proud or significant point in your life or music career so far?
A: The ability and power to make the ones I love enjoy the positive results of this career, to be able to travel with my family and have them dance to my songs. There is nothing more important to me than this!
