Q: Hey, can you tell us a bit about where you come from, and what made you want to start a career in music?
A: I am from l’Île d’Orléans, in the Québec City area. Growing up where I’m from, music isn’t the most common route to go on, but I always had my place in the music room of the school I attended. When I finished high school, I knew I’d pursue a career in music, I had no clue how but I knew I’d one day be on a stage in front of crowds of people singing with me. I would definitely say that singing in the music room everyday gave me the music bug and I never want to stop, EVER!
Q: And what other artists have you found yourself listening to lately?
A: I’ve been listening to a lot of older Coldplay and Maroon 5 albums… so good!
Q: Who were your first and strongest musical influences?
A: Coldplay and John Legend are my lifelong idols! I hope that my EP brings the same types of feelings to my listeners.
Q: You have just released your new EP, ‘Forevermore’. Is there a story behind it?
A: Forevermore is a collection of moments from different eras of my life, following my growth over the years. I wanted a cinematic sound and a good flow from A to Z. This EP also highlights my everlasting love to the ones I cherish and the ones who have marked my life along the way.
Q: What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners, and how would you personally describe your sound?
A: I hope the listeners take the time to understand the words and really get into their own bubble when listening to the EP. It has a cinematic feel to it, so just sit back and the music will speak for itself.
Q: Do you feel that your music is giving you back just as much fulfillment as the amount of work you are putting into it, or are you expecting something more?
A: Yes, absolutely! There is only love in this EP! Whatever happens now, will be what happens. All I know is that I’m so proud and beyond grateful that it’s out!
Q: Could you describe your creative processes? How do usually start, and go about shaping ideas into a completed song?
A: I usually start by composing the music, then I compose the melodies by freestyling a mumble jumble and then I write the words that fit with the melody! Creating unique melodies is what I love most.
Q: What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music career so far?
A: I wouldn’t say I’m the best when it comes to social media, but I’m getting there. We live in a time where being active online and self promotion is so important if you want to make it, so I’m definitely keeping that up!
Q: On the contrary, what would you consider a successful, proud or significant point in your life or music career so far?
A: Placing my first song “Not Alone”, in the movie Racetime. What a dream it was to hear my song in a movie at the cinema!
