ABOUT THE ARTIST:

George Fell grew up in the hills near Manchester, UK. He began performing his guitar instrumentals and arrangements in his mid teens, around the same time he began to learn sculpture techniques from his father, artist Brian Fell. His music developed from a love of early blues and bluegrass. Over time it expanded to incorporate elements of ska, electronica, Latin, jazz and soul music. His compositions are energetic pieces driven by intricate finger style guitar techniques. The unique yet adaptable style of playing that he developed has led to some colourful collaborations over the years, including DJ Yoda, Bez (Happy Mondays) and Zed Bias. He has performed at many of the UK’s most prestigious venues and festivals, both in bands and as a solo performer. Putting his hands to different work, as a skilled Artist Metalworker he has created a range of public artworks that are permanently sited across the UK, produced both in collaboration with his father and in his own right. His sculpture “Octopus” exhibited at HOME Manchester son the 2020 Manchester Open People’s Choice award and his figure of Titania created for the new Shakespeare North Playhouse was featured in the Guardian.
