WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THE SONG:
“The message is that communication is key in relationships and to reach out to the people who love you when you feel trapped inside your own head. This track is for anyone who finds themselves trying to guess what their partner is thinking and a condemnation of the ‘strong silent type’ stereotype we often project in this country. Don’t bottle up your stresses and worries, talk them out and sharing it will lighten the load and make everyone happier and healthier.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Singer, songwriter & producer CAii hails from Manchester and revels in her innate ability to create outspoken, defiant and autobiographical pop music. Influenced by artists such as Banks, Fleetwood Mac, PVRIS and Nirvana, her songwriting fuses relatable lyrics with dramatic production & vocals culminating in her unique take on dark, electronic pop.
CAii has released a number of singles and EPs tackling themes of mental health, toxic relationships and her experience as a young woman in the modern world. Her most recent single ‘Back It Up’ – a resolute, sassy anthem about taking back your power – became her most successful single to date. This was quickly followed by ‘Tonight I’m Getting Over You’ – a collaboration with BtheLick and DJ Clipps, which was featured on dance playlists across the globe.
Having played Sundown Festival, Dot to Dot & Latitude, along with gigging extensively across the independent venue circuit, CAii feels most at home on stage. In 2019 she was shortlisted as one of 5 Manchester finalists in the Hoax Live search for a support artist for Ed Sheeran’s Divide tour.
Recently CAii has branched out into promotion, starting her own live event in Manchester – Pop Tart Hangover Club. A Sunday afternoon gig with cakes, coffees and a welcoming atmosphere, the audience is encouraged to really lean in and find a new favourite artist. Focused on genres outside the typical ‘Manchester sound’ such as pop, neo-soul and R&B, the event champions musicians often overlooked in the city.
2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year for CAii with a new run of singles, a return to regular gigging & festivals and the continuation of Pop Tart Hangover Club with more artists and bigger events.
