Album: Dan McKean – As Sure As Day Is Light

Talented singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Dan McKean released his second full-length album covering 11 new songs. Titled “As Sure As Day Is Light”, the album is a great experience from start to finish and one of the best projects we’ve heard in months. Dan McKean has a unique acoustic sound and it stands out. You can’t get enough of it honestly.

“As Sure As Day Is Light” is an attempt to add a bit more innovation and fun into McKean’s music, with more of a focus on keyboards, lofi and ambient textures, and programmed beats All this without (hopefully) losing touch of his folk roots, and his love of melody and harmony, as heartfelt, gentle songs like Thousand Reasons and All I Know show.

This album will take you on an emotional journey and will leave you stuck on constant repeat for days, it’s something to soothe your nerves, calm your heart, and slow your racing mind. The instrumentals are catchy and the vocal melodies are beautifully captivating. The production of the album is smart, professional and creates a unique atmosphere. Dan McKean is a creative singer and has so much talent when it comes to writing songs. He has one of the best voices you could ever hear, and his performance is on another level. Dan has an amazing passion for his music, and this project shows off all the melodic tones of his stunning voice.

We recommend listening through the album from start to finish to get the perfect experience, but don’t worry, it’ll be the best 46 minutes you’ll ever spend. We’re happy for Dan McKean and we look forward to hearing more from him over the coming months. In the meantime, don’t forget to follow Dan McKean online for any upcoming releases!

OUR FAVORITE SONG FROM THE ALBUM:

“Thousand Reasons” is a record that will take you on a journey that touches the soul, and you would love to share it with everyone you know. The minute we heard this song we fell in love with it and couldn’t get the chorus out of our heads. The production and mixing are excellent and the captivating vocal melody meshes perfectly with Dan’s voice and lyrics. The acoustic instrumental is simple, beautiful and easy to listen to. This song is different and really deserves more attention. We hope you love it as much as we do!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Dan McKean is an AngloIranian singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Oxford, UK. His first album “Leave The West Behind” (currently available on all streaming platforms) mostly displays an acoustic sound, owing to the influence of the “classics” from Nat King Cole to Paul McCartney to Randy Newman to Rufus Wainwright.

His newer works, of which Wheat EP is the first release, is an attempt to add a bit more innovation and fun into his music, with more of a focus on keyboards, lofi and ambient textures, some programmed beats, without (hopefully) losing touch of melody and harmony. Wheat EP contains 4 songs, from the chilled rhodes-driven title track to the lofi disco of ‘Started Out So Well’, the upbeat folk-rock of ‘As Sure As Day Is Light’ and the gentle melodic acoustic closer ‘Thousand Reasons’, all played in their entirety by McKean. The songs were recorded at home, with the exception of the acoustic drums for As Sure As Day Is Light, recorded in a local studio. Wheat EP will be self-released and available for streaming on Bandcamp from 18th April 2022. His second album “As Sure As Day Is Light” is available on all streaming platforms.
