WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
“The band is new and obviously the songs are new, but since I’m a sucker for 60 70’s pop culture I wanted a retro touch to the sound”, says Vargen. “In “Mindy Morning”’s case, producer Fredrik Larnemo pulled out an old minimoog from the studio attic. It added a nice, dreamy vibe which fitted the song and lyric perfectly.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Vargen (translates as “The Wolf” in Swedish) is the stage and recording name of acclaimed Bob Dylan interpreter and singer-songwriter Reine Johansson. Mindy Morning, released June 17, is the first track from his forthcoming debut album of original work.
The album debut Sånger från natten, sånger från Dan (2017) featured new music set to Swedish author Dan Andersson’s (1888-1920) darker poems. The videos for Tjuvskytten and Visa vid Varma källorna were filmed in the Swedish wilderness and gained viral success in Sweden, the latter topped at #1 at Swedish Musikvideotoppen in October 2018. His two following albums of Bob Dylan translations and covers, Tänk Inte Efter – Bob Dylan På Svenska (2019) and Love / Leave – 11 Songs of Bob Dylan (2020), were praised both by the Indie press and Dylan community.
