ViennaCC has released a six-track pop EP titled “The Light Between Us” and it’s a unique experience from start to finish. The release was built around a love story. It is a pretty direct record, but there is enough going on in the music to keep it interesting from start to finish.
We really liked the sound here. ViennaCC does not keep things small or quiet here. The tracks have a loud, bright quality, with strong melodies that stay in the head. His vocal style gives the EP its unique character. It is not the usual polished pop voice and that works. There is something a little unusual about the way he delivers these songs.
The EP also avoids becoming one long repeat of the same sound. Each song adds something different as the story moves from taking a chance on someone to building a life together. ViennaCC has made a fun and unusual pop record here. Our favourite part is probably the mix of his vocal style, loud production and simple melodies. We would happily give it another spin. The best thing is that it does not take it too seriously. There is a playful side to the music and that helps the songs work. This is not just a release, it is a loud announcement of what comes next.
