John Finamore, the singer-songwriter behind Boomer Baby Sounds is here with his new EP “I’m Your Huckleberry Now” and it feels like one of those records you put on just to check it out and then suddenly you’ve played it three times without even noticing. There’s something warm and classic about it, but also something very personal that makes it stand out.
The opening song, “Take a Good Look at Yourself” sets the tone right away. The songwriting is tight, the chorus sticks fast, and the instrumentation feels rich and alive. It’s the kind of opener that makes you want to hear what’s next because everything just fits together naturally.
The title track, “I’m Your Huckleberry Now” pulls you straight into its world. The atmosphere is cozy and cinematic at the same time, and the melodies are very memorable. His voice carries this storytelling vibe that makes you lean closer, like he’s letting you into a story only he can tell. The mixing and the production here are honestly great, everything is balanced perfectly.
“Dream Girl” slows things down but in the best way. The vocals are super strong here, and the lyrics hit that sweet spot between simple and meaningful. You can really hear his range and control, and the melodies feel incredibly catchy.
The closer, “I Feel Something” might be the most powerful moment on the EP. His voice sounds full and emotional, the guitars and drums are bold, and the whole track gives you this sense of something bigger. It feels like a final chapter done right. It’s strong, emotional, and polished.
John really shows how creative and honest he is throughout the whole EP. You can tell he knows how to build a world inside a song, and his voice brings everything together with a lot of heart.
As for us, we honestly enjoyed this project a lot. The production, the instrumentation, the melodies, everything feels thoughtful and real. It’s one of those releases that reminds us why we love covering indie artists in the first place.

John Finamore is a singer songwriter from New Jersey who now resides in CA. After playing covers for years, his classic rock roots can be heard on much of his original material. As founder and main performer of Boomer Baby Sounds, he provides vocals, drums, drum programing and keyboards. For other instrumentation he utilizes various online musician sources and personal musician friends & family. After retiring from the security industry and with time on his hands during the pandemic, John began to compose, record, perform and produce original music rooted in the CLASSIC ROCK/BLUES ROCK genres.
