Barrelly Ego – Wither Weather

Barrelly Ego’s new single “Wither Weather” is emotional and full of soul. It’s like a warm breeze in the middle of a storm. Based in Berlin, the Romanian singer-songwriter brings a voice that instantly draws you in. It’s rich and makes you stop what you’re doing and just listen.

The song blends heartfelt lyrics with a sound that feels classic and fresh. The chorus is beautiful and the kind of hook that lingers long after the song ends. The instrumentation is rich and layered, with every note fitting perfectly under his powerful vocals. You can feel the effort and care put into every second, from the warm production to the great mixing.

What makes this song so special is how real and natural it all feels. Nothing sounds forced or overdone, it’s just pure emotion and great songwriting. Barrelly Ego manages to create something that’s comforting yet moving at the same time.

We really love his voice and the way he delivers his music with such passion and honesty. There’s something timeless about his sound, and we think this single shows that he’s an artist worth keeping an eye on. If this is the start of his solo journey, it’s a powerful one and we can’t wait to hear what comes next.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Barrelly Ego is a Romanian singer/songwriter currently based near Berlin, Germany and is Ion’s first solo music project after being frontman, lead vocal and founding member of the Cluj-Napoca (Romania) based band Mojo Barrel (currently on an indefinite hiatus).

While the Mojo Barrel was being stored in a cool place over the years, Ion decided to keep exploring his creative skills and started working on new material, writing, recording, and co-producing new original songs. These are usually defined by melodramatic lyrics, upbeat melodies, mainstream song patterns and are mostly inspired by a continuous search for uncomplicated and unpretentious catharsis, deeply influenced by bands and artists such as Radiohead, Florence+The Machine, Queens Of The Stone Age, Jeff Buckley, Jack White amongst many others.

The name Barrelly Ego initially resulted from a play on the words “barely legal”, which contrary to what one might think, refers to constantly dealing with the musician’s impostor syndrome that sets in especially when writing a new song. It found its final form after eventually stumbling upon a Leonard Cohen quote (paraphrased earlier here as a motto).
