Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: I started out in the classical music scene. One of my vocal coaches suggested that I try singing a song by Queen. Although he came from a classical background, he told me my voice had something special and encouraged me to explore rock. Growing up, I listened to bands like Linkin Park and Green Day, which led me deeper into rock and metal music. That eventually became the most important part of my life.
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone about to discover M.Nox?
A: That’s a tough one. I actually made a bold move in the beginning by actively avoiding Spotify because I believed so strongly in live music, live interaction, and real experiences. Now that my music is available across all platforms and I’m active on Instagram, I’ve also become more of a content creator.
The message I’d like to share is that my music doesn’t stick to one genre—you can expect everything and nothing at the same time.
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: As I mentioned earlier, Queen opened up the world of music for me, followed by Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, and Green Day. Right now, I’m really into Yungblud. I’m also a big fan of Fearless Vampire Killers from England and Lowlives.
Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song “Enemy”?
A: This song can be interpreted in many ways. We all have our own personal enemies, and they’re not always human. An enemy can be anything we perceive as a threat—it could even become a friend over time. For example, your enemy might be someone you later reconcile with, or it could be the whiskey bottle in your house. In the volatile world we live in, it’s important to know who is truly on our side and who isn’t.
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: Cinematographic.
Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Enemy”?
A: Yes. The biggest challenge was coordinating with our international members—getting everyone together in the same country and then into one studio. But we made it work, and the same challenge became a strength when we shot the music video.
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?
A: The message of my music is that it’s always darkest before the dawn. No matter how terrible things might seem right now, it’s never truly the end. My goal is to take my music to a global audience and give people 90 minutes where they can bond over music and forget, even briefly, about everything going wrong in their lives.
Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with—dead or alive?
A: That’s an easy one. If we’re talking about legends who have passed, definitely Freddie Mercury. Among the living, it would be Avenged Sevenfold.
Q: What advice would you give to people interested in pursuing music as a career or entering the industry?
A: If you want to take this path, you have to go all in. That often means sacrifices, like postponing starting a family. Always be respectful—you never know who you’re talking to or how they might affect your journey. Acting like a “rockstar” in this small scene will cost you everything you’ve built.
Also, stop drinking. I’m a Scotch collector, but I never drink on tour. From the moment I step on the bus until I leave, there’s a strict no-alcohol rule. People pay to see a performance, not drunk musicians on stage.
Q: If you could go back in time and give your younger self some words of wisdom, what would they be?
A: I would tell myself to be more careful about who I trust. The reality is you only have a few real friends. Treat everyone with respect, but remember that some people may turn on you when it benefits them—not physically, but mentally. Be prepared to see how people change when they see a chance to climb higher. At the end of the day, the only person you can fully trust is yourself.
