Carlos Sison’s new EP, “Sketches #1” feels like stepping into a quiet and dreamlike world where every note carries emotion. The Filipino singer-songwriter has crafted something raw yet deeply beautiful, using simple instrumentation and his hauntingly rich voice to pull listeners in. Each song feels alive with warmth with melodies that stay in your head long after the music fades.
The EP was born out of a very personal time, recorded in a bedroom with just one microphone, which makes the whole project feel intimate and close. Instead of sounding unfinished, the production is perfectly balanced, letting his lyrics and melodies shine without distraction. The mix feels clean and the songwriting is truly amazing for a debut project.
What stands out most is the way Carlos manages to create such an atmosphere with so little. His songs don’t need layers of sound to be powerful—the strength comes from his voice and the honesty in his writing. The melodies are haunting but comforting at the same time, and the rawness only adds to the beauty.
This EP is more than just an introduction to Carlos Sison’s music, it’s a statement of his artistry and storytelling. Everything about it feels intentional and sincere and it’s one of those projects that you can sit with and really feel. We’re excited to see where his journey takes him next.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Hailing from the Philippines, Carlos Sison channels a unique blend of Western and Filipino folk, alternative, and ambient influences. His music began as a visceral response to the political turmoil in his homeland, with the guitar becoming a tool to voice frustrations over injustice and corruption. Over time, his songwriting evolved into a more intimate exploration of personal experiences and the stories of those around him. Influenced by workshops with musical icons like Adrianne Lenker, Brian Eno, and Laura Marling, Sison’s work carries a quiet intensity, weaving raw emotion with intricate storytelling.
