Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: In primary school, we had this program called Kids with Keyboards. I was about eight when I started piano through that, and it’s been my go-to songwriting tool ever since. I think that’s what eventually pulled me into electronic music too—I bought a synth just chasing all the different sounds a keyboard could make.
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Lonely Computer”?
A: I want to play live more. Most of the artists I’ve gotten into lately were ones I randomly caught live—it’s such a powerful first impression. I’m also planning to keep releasing as much music as I can. I’m kind of obsessed, so any excuse to be creating, whether it’s in the studio or on stage. I love putting together little films or weird visuals to go with tracks too. For anyone just finding Lonely Computer, I hope it feels fun, a bit unpredictable, and takes them somewhere they didn’t see coming.
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: I find inspiration just about anywhere, can come from life, movie, games, other music! The studio I’m in at the moment is ran by my dear friends Jack (Hii Spirits) and Claire (Rromarin) and I find them to be super inspiring, having watched them work really hard for many years and now they are crushing it.
Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Force My Hand.”?
A: It started during a late-night run-through of my live set. I wanted to add this track that just explodes with energy. I was playing around with the Poly6 patch on DIVA, building it from this soft pad into something darker and more driving. Then I stumbled on the “force my hand” vocal sample and it clicked—it felt like pushing back against doubt, whether it’s your own or someone else’s. The drop’s meant to be pure release, like you’re in the crowd just letting everything go. It came together in under an hour, which almost never happens.
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: Euphoric
Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Force My Hand”?
A: It was one of those tracks that just fell into place. I think because I wasn’t overthinking it and just going with whatever feeling was coming up at the time. Those are the best writing sessions, when you just follow your intuition without any rules.
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?
A: I hope the music gives people a release—a way to let go for a bit. My goal is to create moments where people can be themselves, whether that’s at a show or just listening on their own.
Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)
A: Would have to be Overmono! That would be a dream come true.
Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?
A: Have fun and remember why you started. It can be a slow grind, but if you stick with it and trust yourself, good things happen.
Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?
A: Don’t be so hard on yourself—trust what you’re doing.
