Interview With Inamorata

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A:
Hi, we are Inamorata…ramses on vocal, makara on guitar, windu on bass and mohammed on drums. We are an indie rock band from Jakarta, Indonesia. We start our career as a tribute band for Queen and in 2018, we are aiming to create our own music. We have very diverse background, Mohammed and Makara share same interest in rock music especially glam metal since they are very close friend since High School Era. Windu was born into gospel family and pop music are into him very much, and last Ramses our lead singer was born in bluesy rock n roll culture, of course Freddie Mercury influenced him much. He is our “little freddie” then….

Actually our childhood playlist from grand parents and parents  were really poisoning us…(laughed), we were listen to music such as Queen, GnR, Motley, BB King, Led Zepp, Gin’s Blossom, Goo Goo Dolls and many more from 70s to 90s…

Q: “Rainbow” is a deeply personal release for you. Can you share the story behind the song, and what led you to write it for Daniela Villarreal of The Warning?

A: Ramses answer“‘Rainbow’ was born out of silence. The kind you feel late at night when everything slows down, and you’re left with your thoughts, your regrets, and the faces of people you’ll probably never meet but somehow feel connected to.

I wrote this song for Daniela not because I know her, but because her presence, her voice, her intensity, it reached me when I needed something real. Watching her on stage, especially during performances of ‘Amour’, I felt like I was seeing someone pour out everything I had been too afraid to speak. She became a mirror to my own unspoken pain and passion.

But this isn’t a love song in the traditional sense. ‘Rainbow’ is a letter of gratitude, of recognition, it’s my way of saying, ‘You made me feel something when I thought I couldn’t anymore.’ I never planned to send this to her. I just wanted to release it into the world and hope maybe, somehow, it reaches her heart without needing to explain a word.”

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: of course…Queen. Queen inspire us to break boundaries between genre.

Q: This isn’t just a love letter, it’s a letter of recognition. What was going through your mind emotionally when writing it, and how did that shape the sound of the track?

A: I wasn’t trying to impress anyone. I was trying to survive a moment of deep vulnerability. It wasn’t just about love, it was about admiration, distance, and the ache of never being seen by someone who unknowingly changed your life. Daniela, through her art, gave voice to something inside me that I didn’t know how to say. So this song became a reply, not to her personally, but to the energy she carries on stage, the honesty in her pain, and the fierce beauty of how she channels it.

The sound came naturally from that emotional storm, there’s a quiet desperation in the verses, almost like I’m whispering across an ocean, and then the chorus bursts open like a sky after the rain. It’s raw, it’s melodic, but it never tries to be perfect. Just sincere. Just real. ‘Rainbow’ is not me asking for anything… it’s me saying: I see you. Thank you for existing. (Ramses Add)

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover Inamorata?

A: We’re not chasing trends. we’re chasing truth. Inamorata is about emotion before perfection, connection before numbers. We’re growing our fan base one soul at a time, through raw music, real stories, and honest moments. Whether it’s through streaming platforms, live shows, or just a lyric that finds you when you need it most. our goal is to reach people who feel too much and speak too little.

To anyone just discovering Inamorata: welcome. If you’ve ever loved in silence, cried behind closed doors, or carried a fire inside you that no one saw, you’re already one of us. We don’t promise happy endings, but we promise you won’t feel alone in the dark. There’s still a rainbow after the rain, and we hope you find yours in our music.

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording this single?

A: Our biggest challenge was emotional honesty. Writing ‘Rainbow’ meant confronting feelings that Ramses wasn’t ready to admit.

Admiration, loneliness, longing, even the fear of being invisible to someone who unknowingly became important to him. It wasn’t just about crafting lyrics or melodies, it was about daring to feel everything without hiding behind metaphors.

In the studio, we had moments where the mood had to be just right, dim lights, quiet space, no pressure, because anything forced would’ve broken the soul of the song. Sometimes we had to stop recording and just sit with the emotion. That’s not easy. But that’s what made the track feel alive. It’s not polished to perfection, it breathes. It hurts. And hopefully, it heals too…

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: Rainbow (means colorful)

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)

A: of course Freddie and Queen…but Daniela and her The Warning interesting too. But honestly speaking, We also want to meet Alex Turner and his Arctic Monkeys, since we share same vibe with them in music.

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: Dream on…Period!

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: Don’t be scare…try it all as long as you still breath, darling!
