Interview With Lizzie

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction.

A: Of course, when I was younger I use to have alot of issues with bullying as a child and I wasnt very good at expressing myself at the time. But i found alot of closure in songwriting although it didn’t have music with it, it was essentially my closure to express how I felt in those moments and slowly got me more invested in music and artists.

Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Lizzie”?

A: One step at a time. Im planning to carefully craft some songs in the background until im ready to release them as i want to put out something im proud of and shows exactly what i want it to show. As i want people to be able to relate to it and also be there to help anyone whos gone through a similar pain. But i also what it to share the same joys i feel when im surrounded by my friends.

Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?

A: My inspiration is both taylor swift as well as an artist called Livingston who i recently saw live. I love their craft and how they make their music true to themselves just to make art. When it comes to writing my own songs I take inspiration from everywhere and anywhere. Whether it’s an emotion I felt from a good or bad day or taking inspiration from a book or something in my view.

Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Did you ever love me?.”

A: I wrote this song after my very first break up with my first crush. At the time the break up came out of nowhere and left me feeling heartbroken. After a while I wondered if he had ever loved me in which I ended up creating ‘did you ever love me’ I was really upset over this song and it took me a bit of time to finally be at peace with it. This experience made me realise that many people in the world may face the same feeling or have yet to experience that first break up. So I wanted to create a song that people could turn to for support during those tough times and know that it’ll be OK in time and to allow yourself to feel the way you feel.

Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?

A: Thoughtful

Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Did you ever love me?”

A: I struggled at first when it came to singing the vocals as the wound was still quite fresh for me But I managed to push through it thanks to my family and friends.

Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?

A: My ultimate goal is to remind people that they are not alone and it’s ok to feel what you feel. After all we are only human and there is only so much we can manage. My goals are to try and touch people’s hearts with my music the same way music touched mine.

Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)?

A: Livingston and Raye

Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?

A: Never give up. There are Going to be days when you don’t know if you can do it or if it’s worth it. It’ll take time and you have to be willing to be patient and work on your craft. It won’t happen overnight, a career will take time and effort to build.

Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?

A: To trust your gut.
