Rates of Exchange – Sail Away

Rates of Exchange has captured our attention with their latest single, “Sail Away” a track that feels like a breath of fresh air in the synth-pop revival scene. The four-piece new wave band has delivered a song that’s not just beautiful to listen to but also carries a meaningful message. Focused on mental health awareness and the bravery required to leave toxic relationships, this song combines heartfelt lyrics with stunning production.

The song’s soundscape is a nostalgic nod to the 80s, but it’s infused with a modern edge that keeps it feeling current. Co-produced and mixed by Stephen Hague. The synth melodies are captivating, the vocals are laid-back yet emotionally gripping and the gentle instrumental ties everything together seamlessly.

We really couldn’t get enough of this track. The melodies are beautiful and the vocals have a calming yet impactful quality that left us hitting the repeat button. It’s rare to find a song that feels both timeless and fresh, but this band has nailed it with this new single. We are excited to see what they release next, as this song sets the bar high for their future work. If you haven’t already, give “Sail Away” a listen, it might just become your new favorite.
