Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: Almost every member of The Consultants has been a skater during childhood. Being part of the skateboarding community led us to the skate punk and punk hardcore scene (with projects like Fucking Trent and The Britney’s Conversion) and characterised of all of our musical endeavours. It’s like a non-fading mark that defines us in every aspect of our lives.
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “The Consultants”?
A: We plan to grow our fan base by continuing to perform live, engage with our audience at shows, and release more content, including videos and new music. We want people to have fun and feel the energy we bring. For anyone about to discover us, we hope you’re ready for a wild, unique ride that doesn’t fit the mold of typical indie-punk. We love experimenting and creating something different, and we want you to join in the
fun!
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: Inspiration comes from a variety of places, but right now, we’re really into punk and post-punk revival bands who are keeping the DIY spirit alive. We then find inspiration in everyday working life – from frustrations to moments of joy – and use those feelings to shape our music. It’s all about taking raw emotions and turning them into something energetic and powerful.
Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the album, “Workaholics.”?
A: “Workaholics” is a reflection of the balance (or imbalance) between work, life, and passion. It’s about the hustle culture we live in, the frustrations we face, and the moments when we just need to let loose. The songs capture everything from exhaustion to rebellion to pure fun – the highs and lows of being a workaholic but never losing that passion for doing what you love.
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: Energic.
Q: The mix of garage punk and hardcore intensity gives Workaholics a wild, high-octane feel. How did you develop this sound, and what influences shaped the album?
A: The sound of “Workaholics” came from years of experimenting with different genres. We’ve always been driven by a love for punk and hardcore, but we also wanted to inject some fun, danceable energy into the mix. The result was something raw and fast-paced, but also catchy and full of life. Bands from both the old-school punk scene and modern post-punk influences shaped the energy of the album.
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?
A: Our message is simple: have fun, be yourself, and don’t let the world weigh you down. We want our music to be a release for people – something they can dance to, laugh with, and feel energized by. As artists, our goal is to keep pushing boundaries, staying authentic, and connecting with people who feel the same passion for music as we do.
Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)
A: That’s a tough one, but I think collaborating with someone like Blink-182, NOFX or The Stokes would be amazing. Their energy and commitment to breaking the rules of rock would be an incredible match for what we do.
Q: As one of Italy’s most exciting indie rock acts, how do you feel the Italian music scene has supported or influenced your rise?
A: The Italian music scene is a mixed bag. While it’s filled with talent, there’s also a strong emphasis on cover bands, which can make it hard for original music to shine. We’ve had to carve our own path, especially with our DIY approach, but the underground scene here is passionate and full of great people. It has helped us stay authentic and keep pushing forward despite the challenges.
Q: What’s next for The Consultants after the release of Workaholics? Do you plan to keep exploring similar themes or head in a different direction for future projects?
A: After “Workaholics,” we plan to keep experimenting, maybe adding more synths in our songs. We’ll still have that punk edge, but we’re open to exploring new sounds and themes. Every project we do evolves naturally, so while we don’t have a set plan for what’s next, we know it’ll be fun, fresh, and true to who we are.
