Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your childhood impacted your musical direction?
A: I am 29 from England , I grew up in Australia in my teens where I started writing music at the age of 14/15 . It was just abit of fun with my friends to try stay off the streets as there wasn’t much to do as kids . My best friend Michael was the best rapper in our group for our age and to this day the best rapper I know . But unfortunately when I was 17 he committed suicide and that impacted my life a lot . I took writing music more serious after the situation to cope with life in general and everything I am doing in music is for him .
Q: How are you planning on growing your fan base and sharing your music with the world? What message do you have for anyone who is about to discover “Tripser”?
A: I am planning on growing my fan base and sharing my music with the world by being consistent with what I put out there . Everything I do is a story of my life and I am hoping other people will be able to relate . The message I have for anyone who is about to discover me , is please go back to my mixtape influence kills and follow the story from the beginning and understand what I did and do now to change the way I live my life .
Q: Who is the most inspiring artist for you right now? And where do you find inspiration for making music?
A: my most inspiring artist right now is a hard one because I listen to so many artists but the one that stands out the most from them all . Would be potter payper because he came from the struggle and is real as they come in everything he says .
I find inspiration from many artists in making music but the most of all is myself as it helps me to keep on top of my mental health by letting out what I’m feeling to the page .
Q: Can you tell us about the story or message behind the song, “Only time will tell.”?
A: the story behind only time will tell is basically what it says in the name . It’s either a make it or break it situation and it’s just a general break down of what’s going on in my day to day life .
Q: How would you describe your sound in one word for potential listeners?
A: chilled
Q: Did you face any challenges while writing or recording “Only time will tell”?
A: I faced no challenges writing or recording the track only time will tell. Because music I love to do and it’s natural and I am always prepared when I arrived to the studio to record . I rehearse several times and then go for it in front of the mic .
Q: What is the message of your music? And what are your goals as an artist?
A: the message for my music is to listen to the story I am telling . Take it in and change the way you think if you’re choosing the wrong path like I did . My goals as an artist is to not become super rich but enough money to support myself and my family so they don’t have to struggle with life .
Q: Who is your dream artist to collaborate with? (dead or alive)
A: my dream artist to collaborate with definitely have to be Eminem . I know a lot of people would say the same but he had a lot of impact in me writing music when I was younger as I always listened to him .
Q: What is your advice for people interested in pursuing music as a career or for those trying to enter the industry?
A: my advice is to go for it and don’t look back . Believe in yourself and do what you love . Always follow your dreams and don’t let anyone tell you any different.
Q: If you could go back in time and give a younger you some words of wisdom, what would they be?
A: I wouldn’t change anything as it’s made me the person I am today . If I didn’t do the stuff I did or go through the stuff I went through . I think I would be a completely different person
